Layers Anarc 2 Review: Tech Burner’s ₹6,999 Smartwatch Tested for Design, Tracking and Battery

Layers Anarc 2 Review: Tech Burner’s ₹6,999 Smartwatch Tested for Design, Tracking and Battery

The Layers Anarc 2 is a ₹6,999 smartwatch that gets the basics right: a distinctive octagonal design, a 1.85-inch AMOLED display, step and health tracking that matched watches costing over ₹15,000 in our tests, and more than a week of battery life. If you are shopping for the best smartwatch under ₹7,000 in India, it belongs on your shortlist. You can buy the Layers Anarc 2 on the official Layers store.

Smartwatch buyers today want more than a spec sheet. They want a watch that looks good, tracks health reliably, is easy to use and does not need charging every other day. Layers has kept the identity of the original Anarc and improved the parts people use every day: design, software, battery and tracking. Here is what Techarc found in its hands-on evaluation.

Layers Anarc 2 design: the octagon, refined

Design is still the Anarc 2’s strongest suit. Layers has kept the octagonal shape of the first Anarc, which stands out in a market full of rectangular watches.

The finish is a clear step up. The aluminium body, sharper detailing and liquid silicone strap give it a more upmarket look. It now feels like an everyday accessory, not just a fitness gadget.

The 1.85-inch AMOLED display, with a 390 × 450 resolution, 60Hz refresh rate and claimed 700-nit peak brightness, ties it together.

In our view, Layers made the right call: keep the design language, improve the finish. The Anarc 2 feels like a more mature product with stronger wrist presence.

Nexora OS: a smartwatch interface with its own identity

The Anarc 2 runs Nexora OS, and the software is a big part of why it feels new. You use a smartwatch in many short glances, so the interface matters.

Nexora OS brings customisable widgets, interactive watch faces, haptic feedback and smoother transitions. Everyday navigation feels quicker and more engaging.

  • 200+ watch faces to match your style
  • Canvas AI creates a watch face from a text prompt
  • Layers AI adds an assistant layer to the software

Health and fitness tracking accuracy: does it hold up?

Yes. Tracking is the main reason people buy a smartwatch, and the Anarc 2 passed our most important test.

We checked step counts and other health readings against smartwatches priced above ₹15,000. The Anarc 2’s readings closely matched these costlier reference devices on every parameter we tested. For everyday fitness tracking, you may not need to spend double for comparable results.

It also covers the wellness essentials: heart-rate monitoring, SpO2, stress tracking and sleep analysis.

Battery life: more than a week on a charge

The 350mAh battery lasts noticeably longer than the original Anarc’s. In our use, the Anarc 2 comfortably ran for more than a week between charges. The redesigned charging dock helps too. It uses a Type-C connection and attaches magnetically, so charging is quicker to set up than before. It is a small change that makes daily ownership easier.

Other features: GPS, Bluetooth calling and more

The Anarc 2 goes well beyond step counts and notifications, with built-in GPS, Strava and Apple Health support, 100+ workout modes, Bluetooth calling, direct TWS earbud pairing, SOS, and weather and AQI updates.

Tech Burner’s smartwatch, tested independently

Layers is the brand co-founded by Shlok Srivastava, better known as Tech Burner, one of India’s most-watched tech YouTubers, along with Neel Gogia. Fans of his channel know the first Anarc. Shlok has credited that fan base for the sequel, saying “Anarc 2 is possible because of that community”. Layers even invited 100 Anarc owners to a private reveal in Delhi before launch. A creator’s backing brings attention, but buyers want to know whether the product holds up without the hype. That is what this independent Techarc review set out to test, and on design, tracking and battery, the Tech Burner smartwatch delivers.
