India Smart Consumer Electronics Launch Analysis – Q2 2026

Techarc’s cross-category New Launch trackers show Smart TVs (113) and Smartphones (99) leading April–June activity, a sharp smartphone price step-up, and near-total Make-in-India coverage, even as Laptops consolidate around a single brand and Tablets enter a seasonal lull.

Gurugram / Srinagar, India, July 16: Techarc, the independent technology market research, analytics and consulting firm, today released its Q2 2026 (April–June) India Consumer Electronics New Launch Market Report. Consolidating every new launch tracked across four categories, India Smart Consumer Electronics Launch Analysis – Q2 2026, the report logs 257 total launch entries for the quarter, counting unique models and their variants, led by Smart TVs (113) and Smartphones (99), followed by Laptops (38) and a seasonally thin Tablets quarter (7).

The headline story of the quarter is a clear high-cost inflection running alongside continued mass-market volume. In smartphones, the average operating price of launches jumped to ₹35,990, up roughly 69% versus Q2 2025, after two budget-leaning years. In laptops, nearly half of all launches (44.7%) were priced above ₹1.5 lakh, and in Smart TVs the single largest segment by launch count was the above-65-inch tier (34.5%).

A second defining pattern is variant fan-out. Smartphone launch volume nearly doubled year-on-year (from 38 to 99), yet unique models grew far more modestly (38 to 53), meaning brands are covering more price points through RAM/storage configurations rather than a proportional rise in new designs. Smart TVs show the same effect through screen-size variants, with several series spanning up to five sizes. Laptops and Tablets, by contrast, still launch mostly as single SKUs.

“What stands out this quarter isn’t just how many products launched, but how brands launched them. The market is widening at the top and deepening through variants at every price point; premium is no longer a niche, and configuration depth has become a go-to-market lever in its own right.”

— Faisal Kawoosa, Chief Analyst and Co-founder, Techarc

Brand concentration is visible across every category. Realme led smartphone launch volume (12 entries from just four models); Asus alone accounted for more than half of all laptop launches (52.6%), the highest single-brand concentration in the report; Samsung held a 29.2% share of Smart TV launches, nearly triple its closest rivals, and posted an almost identical Q2 launch count for the third year running. In tablets, the field split evenly across five players, with OnePlus and Moto each extending a single model line into two configurations.

On the technology mix, AI and connectivity features have crossed from differentiator to baseline. 5G featured in 87.9% of smartphone launches and 120Hz-plus displays in 96%; 78.9% of laptop launches were Copilot+ certified. Make-in-India coverage was near-total for Smartphones (99%) and Smart TVs (95.6%), but notably lower for Laptops (63.2%), the only category still leaning materially on imported units. Tablets’ thin quarter, Techarc notes, is a seasonality effect rather than a demand signal, the same tracker logged 18 tablet launches in March 2026 alone.

The full report includes month-wise trends, segment and brand bifurcation, three-year Q2 comparisons and category-level spec analysis, together with methodology notes and data-quality flags for each tracker.
