Garmin India, a subsidiary of Garmin Ltd. has launched its latest GPS cycling computers, the Edge 540 and Edge 840 Series. These devices offer performance-based training metrics, coaching tailored to individual goals, and navigational support in a lightweight and user-friendly design. The high-performance cycling gear also offers dynamic performance insights, advanced mapping, and solar charging for smarter riding and harder training regimes.
The new solar charging models promise longer ride times, with up to 32 hours of battery life in demanding use or up to 60 hours in battery-saver mode.

The Edge 540 and 840 Cycling computers come in a rugged design. These devices are said to be durable and have button controls that work in any riding environment, as well as a 2.6-inch color display. The Edge 840 series also has a responsive touchscreen. The solar models, Edge 840 Solar and Edge 540 Solar, promise to offer up to 32 hours of battery life in demanding use or up to 60 hours in battery saver mode.
The cycling computers, powered by Firstbeat Analytics, provide insights on metrics such as VO2 max, training status, training load2, recovery time, and more. Cyclists wearing a compatible Garmin smartwatch can receive insights on their overall health and wellness, including Pulse Ox3, Body Battery energy monitoring, advanced sleep monitoring, sleep score, and more. The Edge 540 and 840 Series offer in-ride notifications for refueling or rehydration and provide insights on how the body is holding up in different environments with heat and altitude acclimation.
