MediaTek Sets New Standard for Flagship Smartphone Chips with Dimensity 9600 Pro

Showcased at MediaTek Tech Day, the advanced 2nm SoC delivers flagship performance and power efficiency across agentic AI, gaming, imaging and compute, reducing multi-core power consumption by 61%.

The event themed, “The Next Leap”, spotlighted on the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro as one of the first chipsets built on the advanced 2nm process node. The MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro’s next-generation design delivers elite flagship performance and exceptional power efficiency, while its new Native AI architecture brings transformative agentic AI experiences to smartphones. The Tech Day also highlighted the vast scale of the Dimensity 5G portfolio, demonstrating how MediaTek continues to redefine mobile computing and ensure incredible connected experiences with the Dimensity 7500 and the Dimensity 8500 SoCs.

Media representatives, technology analysts, KOLs, and OEM stakeholders from OPPO, Samsung, Xiaomi, vivo, Realme, Nothing, OnePlus, Tecno, Infinix, Motorola, and iQOO gathered to witness the debut launch of the Dimensity 9600 Pro in India. Dedicated demo zones gave attendees a closer look at MediaTek’s expanding presence across mid-premium, premium, and flagship smartphones, including the OPPO Find X9s powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9500s, Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Series powered by Dimensity 9500, Xiaomi 17T powered by Dimensity 8500 Ultra, Tecno Pova 8 Pro powered by Dimensity 7400 Ultimate, vivo T5 5G powered by Dimensity 7500 Turbo and Realme 16 Pro powered by Dimensity 7300 Max.

During the keynote address, Anuj Sidharth, Director, Marketing and Corporate Communication, MediaTek India and SEA Region, highlighted MediaTek’s outlook on the emerging token economy. He noted that consumer AI agents are expected to be a primary volume driver in this new landscape. Following this, Tracy Hsiao, Senior Product Manager, MediaTek Wireless Communication Business Group, outlined the transformative flagship capabilities of the Dimensity 9600 Pro. Additionally, Thomas Ho, Senior Director, MediaTek Wireless Communication Business Group, detailed how the Dimensity 7000 and 8000 series are actively democratizing AI across tiers.

Bringing the Dimensity 9600 Pro’s capabilities to consumers through its upcoming flagship smartphone, Goldee Patnaik, Head of Communications, OPPO India, delivered a keynote on the upcoming OPPO Find X10 Series powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro. The OPPO Find X10 Pro Max will be the first smartphone to feature MediaTek’s flagship Dimensity 9600 Pro in India.

The event also witnessed an interactive panel discussion, titled “Will AI Decide Your Next Flagship?” moderated by Anuj Sidharth. The panel brought together tech analysts and MediaTek representatives, including Tarun Pathak from Counterpoint Research, Faisal Kawoosa from Techarc, Prabhu Ram from CMR and Raghavan Sampath from MediaTek India. Improved Compute Performance: Features a 2+3+3 All Big Core CPU design, delivering faster, more responsive experiences and a 61% reduction in multi-core power consumption. This architecture consists of two C2-Ultra cores with clock speeds up to 4.55GHz, three C2-Pro big cores at 4.35GHz, and three C2-Pro big cores at 3.1GHz, delivering up to 17% higher single-core and 15% higher multi-core performance over the previous generation.

Advanced AI Experiences:

• The Dimensity 9600 Pro’s dual-NPU architecture and Dimensity Agentic AI Engine power next-generation on-device AI. This shifts AI from a passive responder to a proactive digital companion – one that intelligently perceives context, anticipates needs, and coordinates across apps securely.
• Its 2nd-gen Super-Efficient NPU reduces always-on AI power consumption by 40%, while the NPU 1090 delivers 51% higher LLM prefill performance, 55% higher Token generation per watt*, and supports models up to 30B parameters, enabling smarter on-device AI.
• Smoother Gaming:
• Integrating the G2-Ultra NX GPU, the Dimensity 9600 Pro delivers up to 27% higher peak performance, 24% lower power consumption and 18% faster ray tracing, enabling console-grade gaming at up to 185fps.
• MediaTek Dimensity Neural Graphics Architecture combines GPU and AI computing, while MediaTek HyperEngine optimizes gameplay for smoother, immersive, high-resolution gaming.

• High-quality Imaging:
• Dimensity 9600 Pro features the Imagiq 1290 ISP and AI Imaging Fusion Architecture, enabling advanced computational photography and content creation, with NPU-powered 60fps motion capture, 4K240 ultra-slow-motion video, 4K60 AI True Color Tone, 4K120 cinematic log and 17EV imaging.
