Two markets, two trajectories.
The UK telecom market at a glance.
More data, different economics.
Ofcom's mobile tables cover subscriptions, retail revenue, ARPU, calls, messaging and data. Ofcom publishes these for the whole market only — there is no per-operator mobile split in this dataset.
Fewer lines, more broadband.
Fixed-line telephony is shrinking while broadband connections grow. Residential / business splits are shown only where Ofcom publishes them; broadband connections are published for Residential & Small Business combined.
Where the pounds come from.
All revenue is in GBP millions, excluding VAT, as published by Ofcom. Mobile is retail revenue; fixed is network access & call revenue — different scopes, so they are shown side by side and never added together.
BT, Virgin Media & the rest.
Operator detail exists for the fixed market only. Mobile is published for all operators combined.
